Anyone planning an outdoor National Day holiday in Shanghai should prepare for a noticeably different feel.
After temperatures climbed above 32°C on September 27, the city is expected to turn cooler and wetter around the start of the holiday. Shanghai’s official weather forecast currently shows short showers, stronger winds and a daytime high of about 25°C on October 1.

Why is Shanghai getting cooler?
According to Shanghai weather authorities, cold air is becoming more active around the start of October. It is expected to bring another period of rain, stronger winds and falling temperatures.
The city’s daytime high may drop to around 25°C, while overnight temperatures could approach 20°C. Some suburban areas may be slightly cooler.
