Leaving or Returning to China? Watch These Four Peak Travel Dates

Planning a holiday trip out of China—or coming back? China’s National Immigration Administration forecasts peak border traffic on September 25, September 27, October 1 and October 4.

Four dates to keep in mind

Daily crossings are expected to average 2.25 million during Mid-Autumn and 2.15 million during National Day, with the busiest day exceeding 2.4 million.

These are forecasts for arrivals and departures combined, not predicted waiting times.

Airports aren’t the only busy crossings

Traffic is also expected to rise at land crossings to and from Hong Kong and Macao. Keep this in mind even if your holiday involves no flight.

Before you travel

The authority advises travelers to check their travel documents and visas are valid, and monitor passenger volumes and clearance updates at their departure or arrival port.
