A Chilling Warning Before the Fall
On May 5th, several videos surfaced online documenting a horrific accident at a cliffside swing attraction. The footage shows a female tourist being secured with safety ropes before being slowly moved away from the safety platform.
Regrettably, the video captures a haunting detail: the tourist or people recording her can be heard repeatedly stating, "It’s not tied tight." Moments after sliding off the platform, she plummeted down the cliffside. Eyewitnesses reported that she struck the cliff face during the descent, a detail that has added to the public's distress over the incident.
Official Investigation and Findings
Following the outcry, the investigation team from Huaying City, Sichuan, released an official communique regarding the accident at Maliuyan Adventure Park. The victim was a female tourist identified as Ms. Liu, who sustained critical injuries while participating in the Waterfall Swing project and tragically passed away en route to the hospital. In response to the event, the park has been ordered to cease all operations immediately for a full safety rectification.

The incident has been classified as a corporate production safety responsibility accident. This suggests that the tragedy was preventable and stemmed from a failure in safety management or equipment inspection rather than a random malfunction.
The relevant departments are currently investigating the responsible parties and entities involved in the park's operation. Out of respect for the victim’s privacy, authorities have urged the public to refrain from sharing or reposting the graphic footage of the accident that continues to circulate online.
