China Introduces Online Visa Application System for Indian Travelers

China has rolled out a new online visa application system for Indian nationals, effective December 20, 2025, aimed at making the process faster and more convenient.

Under the new system, applicants can complete visa forms and upload required documents digitally through the official website, reducing time spent on initial processing.

The Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in New Delhi will continue to support applicants alongside the online platform.

Physical submission of passports and documents can be done only after the online review is completed and a confirmation email is received. The centre operates Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 3 pm, at Shivaji Stadium Metro Station in Connaught Place.

Authorities say the move is intended to encourage people-to-people exchanges and facilitate smoother travel between India and China.

It follows a series of confidence-building measures agreed upon in 2025, including the resumption of tourist visas for Chinese nationals by India, the restart of direct commercial flights, and the revival of the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.

Overall, the new system is expected to boost tourism, trade, and wider bilateral exchanges between the two countries.
