Foreign travelers can now submit their entry details online via the National Immigration Administration (NIA) official website, government service platforms, the "移民局12367" mobile app, or mini-programs on WeChat and Alipay. A QR code scanning option is also available for fast mobile access.
Today, AnyHelper walks you through how to fill out the Digital Entry Card using the mobile QR code method:
Step-by-Step Process:
Scan and Select
Start by scanning the above QR code. Choose the appropriate option for your situation. For most travelers, select "Entry Declaration" (the first option). The second option is for Border Area Residents.
Step 1: Upload Passport Page
Upload your passport page. You can choose from your photo gallery, upload a file, or take a new picture directly.
Step 2: Fill in Personal Information
Enter your personal details as requested. If you are visa-exempt, there is a designated field for that as well.
You can tap the top-left arrow "<" at any time to go back and modify previous entries.
Step 3: Provide Travel Information
Input your travel plans.
For instance, if you're filling the form on November 25, 2025, you can enter travel details (date of entry) for that same day or any date up to February 25, 2026—suggesting the system may allow submission up to 4 months in advance.
Step 4: Companions Check
Once you hit "Submit," the system will ask: "Do you have any companions?"
If you're traveling with someone (like children), select "Yes" to fill out their information too.
Step 5: Final Statement and Signature
After submitting, you'll be prompted to review a final declaration. Confirm your agreement by signing and tapping "Confirm."
A QR code receipt will be generated—take a screenshot and save it to your phone for convenient use.
For those unable to complete online registration in advance, digital submission remains possible upon arrival at Chinese ports of entry through QR code scanning or self-service kiosks. Alternatively, a paper entry card can still be filled out on site.
Seven categories of foreign nationals are exempt from submitting an entry card, including:
Holders of China's Foreigner's Permanent Residence ID Card;
Non-Chinese nationals with a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao;
Group visa holders or travelers under group visa waiver programs;
Those transiting through China within 24 hours without leaving the port area;
Cruise passengers returning on the same ship;
Participants in fast-track immigration programs;
Foreign crew on international transportation vehicles.
