A Filipino tourist has died after losing consciousness while riding the "Frozen Ever After" attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland, according to police and park officials.
The incident occurred on August 29, when the man reportedly became unresponsive during the ride. Upon arrival at the attraction's endpoint, cast members immediately checked on him and performed first aid before paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
On September 2, the Lantau North Division of the Hong Kong Police confirmed the death to reporters, stating that further details should be obtained from Disneyland authorities.
The park's customer service department told media the tourist had a long history of heart disease and hypertension. "Preliminary findings suggest the incident was not directly related to the safety of the attraction," a spokesperson said. "'Frozen Ever After' is currently closed for annual maintenance, a suspension that was planned months in advance and not connected to this case."
According to information published on the Hong Kong Disneyland website, the attraction is scheduled to be unavailable from August 31 to September 19, 2025, "to support operational adjustments."
The official description of "Frozen Ever After" on the park's website highlights the boat ride as an immersive journey through iconic scenes and beloved songs from Disney's Frozen, inviting guests to travel to Queen Elsa's Ice Palace in an experience that is "heartwarming, humorous, dazzling, and awe-inspiring."
