On July 15, Qunar, one of China's leading travel platforms, officially launched its English-language interface, enabling users to book hotels, flights, train tickets, and vacation packages entirely in English.

According to the company, Android users can access the English version by opening the Qunar Travel app, while iOS users should use the Qunar Travel Pro app. By navigating to "My" > "Settings" and selecting the preferred language, users can switch to English with just one tap.

Despite not previously offering an English version, Qunar had already attracted a significant number of international users. According to company representatives, many foreigners booked flights and accommodations on the platform through the help of Chinese-speaking friends.

Qunar's internal data shows that in the first half of 2025, the number of domestic flight bookings made using non-Chinese passports increased by nearly 30% year-on-year. Compared to 2023, that figure had already surged by 180% in 2024.

"The rapid growth of inbound tourism and increasing demand from international users drove us to accelerate the launch of the English version," said a Qunar spokesperson. The English interface now offers the same products and full-service experience as the Chinese version, including search, booking, and payment functionalities.

The platform also revealed that Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Russia, Canada, and the United States were the top 10 sources of inbound travelers to China in the first half of 2025. Foreign bookings have spanned more than 100 cities across China, with the top 10 most popular destinations being Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Qingdao, Haikou, and Kunming.
