Foreign Traveller Caught Smuggling Cocaine at Guangzhou Airport
Guangzhou Customs recently intercepted a drug smuggling attempt at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, seizing 337.88 grams of cocaine concealed inside a passenger's body.

During routine inspections of an inbound flight, customs officers from Baiyun Airport Customs noticed a traveler exhibiting suspicious behavior and appearing visibly nervous. Upon further questioning and investigation, the individual admitted to internally concealing narcotics.
The passenger was immediately handed over to the anti-smuggling department and transferred to a designated medical facility for examination and detoxification. Medical personnel later retrieved seven capsules of cocaine from the individual. Laboratory analysis confirmed the substance as cocaine, weighing a total of 337.88 grams.
Customs authorities emphasize: according to Article 347 of China's Criminal Law, anyone found guilty of smuggling, trafficking, transporting, or manufacturing drugs—regardless of the quantity—will be subject to criminal liability and legal punishment.
