A mutual visa exemption agreement between the governments of China and the Federated States of Micronesia will officially take effect on July 25.
Under the agreement, citizens of China holding valid diplomatic, service, or official ordinary passports, and citizens of Micronesia holding valid diplomatic or official passports, will be exempt from visa requirements when entering, exiting, or transiting through the other country. The visa-free stay is permitted for up to 30 days from the date of entry.
Travelers intending to stay beyond 30 days, or to engage in activities such as employment, study, permanent residence, or journalism — which require prior approval from the relevant authorities — must apply for a visa before entering the other country.
