Multiple Chinese airlines have announced an adjustment to the fuel surcharge standards for domestic flights, effective June 5, 2025.
Under the new policy:
Flights under 800 km (inclusive): No fuel surcharge will be imposed on adult passengers.
Flights over 800 km: A fee of 10 yuan per passenger per segment will apply, marking a 10-yuan reduction from the previous rate.
A key detail to note is that the fuel surcharge is determined based on the ticket issuance time, not the travel date. Passengers who purchased tickets before 00:00 on June 5 will still be charged under the old standards, even if their travel occurs after the adjustment. No refunds or additional charges will apply for previously issued tickets.
