China to Launch Online Visa Application System Starting June 30

Recently, several Chinese embassies officially announced that beginning June 30, 2025, the new China Online Visa Application System will be fully implemented. The current China Visa Application Form System will be discontinued on the same date.

Applicants will be able to conveniently complete forms and upload required documents online through the new platform. The shift aims to streamline the visa process and enhance application efficiency.

For example, the Chinese Embassy in Japan issued the following notice:

"To further improve the efficiency of visa processing and optimize service procedures, in accordance with unified domestic deployment, the Chinese Embassy in Japan will fully implement the China Online Visa Application System. The original China Visa Application Form System will be discontinued simultaneously. At that time, when applying for a Chinese visa via the China Online Visa Application website, you will be able to enjoy the convenience of filling out the form online and uploading your application materials digitally.

1. Launch Date: June 30, 2025.

2. Please visit the China Online Visa Application website (https://www.visaforchina.cn/TYO3_JP/qianzhengyewu) to read the application guide. First-time applicants need to register an account. Through a personal account, applicants can track the visa processing status.

3. For applications submitted via the original China Visa Application Form System before 23:59 on June 29, 2025, materials must be submitted at the Tokyo Visa Application Center by 15:00 on July 4, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted due to the closure of the original system.
