Half-Naked Man in Only Pink Underwear Spotted in Chinese Women's Restroom – And Now the Artist Is Furious
A shopping mall in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, has found itself in hot water — and it all started with a bathroom wall.
On July 18, a visitor to the women's restroom at Ximei Huajie Life Plaza noticed something unusual. Actually, scratch that — something very unusual.
A mural of a pink-skinned man wearing nothing but underwear, striking a suggestive pose.
The image, which was reportedly placed at the entrance of the restroom, has sparked outrage among shoppers — particularly parents who frequently bring their children to the mall.

"Physically Uncomfortable"
The visitor who shared the photos online said the mural was impossible to miss — you see it the moment you walk in.
"It feels like a violation of public decency and makes people very uncomfortable," she wrote. "This isn't art — at least not in my book."
She added that the men's restroom reportedly features similarly revealing murals of women — though it's unclear if those are quite as pink.
The visitor said she had filed a complaint with the relevant authorities and was awaiting a response.
Not the First Time
In 2016, the same mall was called out for revealing murals in the men's restroom. At the time, they defended it as a "trendy" decoration style.
Even the Artist Is Offended
The situation has taken an unexpected turn — the original artist of the mural has come forward.
In a post online, she wrote:
"I came across this video by chance and felt deeply shocked and offended. Neither the mall nor the designer obtained any authorization from me — they copied my original design 100%, even keeping my logo. Placing my work in such an inappropriate setting is not only a disregard for public and private boundaries but also an open plagiarism and defamation of my creative work."
As of now, it's unclear whether the murals have been removed. The mall's operator has not issued further comment.
