Our client is a fast-growing Chinese manufacturer specializing in spreaders, European-standard overhead cranes, and intelligent crane systems, with an expanding presence in international markets. Due to continued overseas business growth, the company is seeking 3–4 Proposal Design Engineers to develop technical solutions, support global customers, and serve as a key link between customer requirements and engineering capabilities.
Position: Proposal Design Engineer – Overhead Cranes & Lifting Equipment
Reporting Line: Engineering Manager / Sales Director
Location: China or Malaysia
Openings: 3–4
Salary Range: RMB 12,000–15,000/month (depending on experience and technical background)
Key Responsibilities
Proposal Engineering & Technical Design
Analyze customer inquiries, technical specifications, and project requirements to develop practical and competitive crane solutions.
Prepare professional 2D general arrangement drawings and 3D concept models using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent CAD software.
Develop technical proposals covering crane layouts, lifting capacities, structural dimensions, clearance requirements, and equipment configurations.
Work closely with sales and engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically reliable, commercially competitive, and aligned with international standards including FEM, DIN, CMAA, and ISO.
International Customer Technical Communication
Communicate directly with overseas customers through emails, online meetings, and phone discussions in professional English.
Understand customer expectations, clarify technical requirements, explain design solutions, and provide effective engineering support throughout the proposal process.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposal documents, and product specifications in English for international clients.
Global Business Support & Travel
Participate in overseas customer visits, project discussions, site surveys, and bid clarification meetings.
Travel internationally approximately 2–4 times per year, depending on project requirements.
Represent the company’s engineering capabilities at customer meetings, exhibitions, and industry events.
Technical Training & After-Sales Support
Develop and conduct technical training programs for overseas distributors, end-users, and maintenance teams.
Provide training related to crane operation, safety systems, intelligent control technologies, and maintenance procedures.
Support customers with technical troubleshooting and post-sales engineering assistance when required.
Candidate Profile
Education & Professional Background
Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in crane design, hoisting equipment engineering, or technical proposal development.
Candidates with experience in spreaders, European-type cranes, automated/intelligent crane systems, or heavy lifting solutions will be highly valued.
Technical Expertise
Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD 2D drafting and 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar platforms.
Good understanding of:
Structural mechanics and steel structure design
Motor and gearbox selection principles
Basic electrical control systems
3. Language & Communication Skills
Excellent written and spoken English skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to international customers.
Minimum requirement: CET-6 or equivalent English proficiency.
Overseas study, engineering projects, or international customer-facing experience will be considered a strong advantage.
