A sinkhole opened on a road in Shanghai's Minhang district, swallowing part of the construction site and a temporary building. No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation after a prior leak.

The ground, already within a fenced construction area, suddenly sank into a large pit, pulling down a nearby temporary building and exposing underground pipelines that sprayed water into the void.
Workers fled as dust filled the air.
Local shop owners said the incident occurred between 8am and 9am, forcing business closures.
It has been reported that the collapse followed a partial leakage incident on February 11, during tunnel construction between Qixin Lu and Xinjian Lu stations.
Shanghai Shentong Metro Group activated emergency protocols and there were no injuries or fatalities.
Minhang emergency services confirmed no ambulances were dispatched, and officials reiterated there were no casualties, stating that the exact cause will be announced through official channels.
Authorities have fully closed sections of Qixin Lu, Lian Lu, and Likang Lu, banning all vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Multiple bus routes have been temporarily diverted, and passengers are advised to check updated travel information.
Investigations into the cause are ongoing.
