Karen is active in Shanghai's amateur sports community, playing with the Shanghai Dockers, Celtic FC, and Dragons Rugby Club. She loves getting stuck in and supporting the local sports scene here.
Sadly, while returning from a community event she had a serious scooter fall—with her face taking the brunt of the impact with complex fractures to her eye socket, cheekbone, and jaw.
She's just had maxillofacial surgery at Huashan Public Hospital and is on the road to recovery, but almost all the medical costs are out-of-pocket and piling up.
The whole process will need about three weeks in hospital. And then several months to recover.
Any support would really mean a lot to her.
