In the early hours of January 2, 2026, traffic police in Jiangxi Province's Yichun City carried out a nighttime enforcement operation targeting drunk and impaired driving. During the operation, officers apprehended a foreign national for driving after consuming alcohol.

At around 3:00 a.m., police set up a checkpoint on Yichun South Road. While conducting inspections, officers noticed a black sedan driving erratically and exhibiting suspicious behavior. The vehicle was immediately stopped for inspection, and the driver was subjected to a breath alcohol test.

The test result showed a blood alcohol concentration of 69 mg per 100 ml, which meets China's legal standard for driving after drinking alcohol.

Further investigation identified the driver, surnamed Luo, as a foreign national working in Yichun. Luo holds a valid Chinese mainland C2 driver's license and was driving a small passenger vehicle with a Jiangxi license plate beginning with Gan C6U***.

Upon being informed of the test result, Luo admitted to driving after drinking alcohol and signed to confirm the violation on the spot. Police then issued an administrative compulsory measure notice in accordance with traffic safety regulations and informed the driver to report to the Yuanzhou First Brigade within 15 days for further processing.

Traffic police authorities emphasized that all drivers, regardless of nationality, are required to strictly comply with China's road traffic laws. They reiterated that driving under the influence of alcohol poses a serious safety risk and urged motorists to act responsibly to ensure the safety of themselves and others.
