Man Arrested for Attempting to Open Aircraft Door on Flight
On December 10, a 20-year-old man from mainland attempted to open the aircraft door mid-flight on Cathay Pacific flight CX811, en route from Boston to Hong Kong. The incident occurred during the 15-hour journey aboard an Airbus A350.

According to Cathay Pacific's statement on December 12, cabin crew responded immediately and followed safety procedures, ensuring the door remained securely shut. No crew members or passengers were injured, and the flight landed safely in Hong Kong at 4:52 AM local time on December 11.
Following the incident, the case was handed over to the Hong Kong Police for investigation. A spokesperson from the Hong Kong Police Force's Public Relations Branch confirmed that the man was arrested on suspicion of "disrupting aviation order." The case is now being handled by the Airport District's Criminal Investigation Team.
Public flight data confirms flight CX811 departed Boston at 12:45 AM local time on December 10 and arrived in Hong Kong the next morning, with a total flight duration of 15 hours and 7 minutes.
