According to a report from the official Xuhui Police communication channel, officers responded to a 110 emergency call at 6:47 PM on November 1st, regarding an altercation at a residential complex on Longwu Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that the complainant, a 30-year-old woman surnamed Zhan, became involved in a heated dispute with three male neighbors—Zhu (44), Liu (81), and Zhang (65)—over garbage being left in the corridor.

The confrontation escalated into a physical altercation. Authorities have since launched a criminal investigation and are conducting medical evaluations of the individuals involved, as well as further interviews with witnesses.

Further details emerged from a video posted by a blogger who claimed the assaulted woman was her cousin, a tenant in the building. The blogger stated that the conflict began when her cousin knocked on the neighbor's door to politely ask them to stop leaving trash outside her home. An elderly man allegedly responded aggressively, sparking a verbal and then physical confrontation.

Video footage showed the blogger being pushed and shouted at by multiple elderly residents. One man reportedly yelled, "Don't push me!" while pushing the blogger himself. Tensions escalated when another elderly individual accused the woman of assaulting a senior, while pulling at her and shouting loudly.

The situation further intensified when the elderly man's son allegedly dragged the blogger to a blind spot outside the view of surveillance cameras, where he is accused of choking her, slamming her to the ground, and beating her for approximately two minutes. She also claimed he used a stick during the assault.

Though surveillance captured parts of the struggle and the woman yelling for help, the footage did not clearly show the full extent of the confrontation. The blogger and her cousin later retreated into their apartment, called the police, and were eventually taken to the hospital by ambulance. The blogger described herself as trembling uncontrollably from the shock while en route to the hospital.

The pair have since moved out and refused to accept any mediation. On November 4th, officials from the Caohengjing police station confirmed that the case remains under investigation.
