Foreign Student Detained for Breaking Into Women's Dorm & Assault
On October 28, multiple users reported on social media that a foreign male student at China Three Gorges University (CTGU) in Yichang, Hubei Province, had illegally entered a women's dormitory late at night. Posts claimed the student climbed into the second floor of the dormitory and attempted to sexually assault a female resident.

University Confirms Incident, Student Expelled
On October 29, China Three Gorges University issued an official statement confirming the incident:
"In the early hours of October 26, a male foreign student at our university trespassed into a women's dormitory on campus and engaged in an act of sexual misconduct toward a female student. The individual has since been placed under criminal detention by public security authorities, and the university has expelled him in accordance with relevant disciplinary regulations."
Security Measures Strengthened
The university emphasized that it will use this incident as a critical lesson to enhance campus safety protocols and improve student management. It reaffirmed its commitment to protecting students' legal rights and maintaining order on campus.
A student familiar with the case told reporters that the foreign student was detained on the same day the incident occurred. The university has reportedly installed new barbed wire fencing around the second floor of the dormitory to prevent similar breaches in the future.
