A video released by Qingdao Radio and Television Station on October 27 has sparked widespread discussion across Chinese social media.

The footage, filmed on the streets of Shanghai, features a woman born in 1996 who shared an emotional and unexpected story about her marriage to an Italian man. According to her account, she married the man believing that a boy he introduced as his "younger brother" was indeed a sibling. However, after their marriage, she discovered that the boy was actually her husband's biological son from a previous marriage.

The woman revealed that after learning the truth, her relationship with her husband deteriorated, and the two eventually divorced. Despite the end of the marriage, she decided to take care of the boy herself, explaining that the man had treated his son poorly behind closed doors. "I just couldn't stand by and watch anymore," she said.

In the closing moments of the video, the young boy looks at the camera and says softly to the reporter:

"When I grow up, I'll protect my mom."

The clip quickly went viral, prompting a wave of online reactions:
