China to Trial Visa-Free Entry for Russian Citizens Starting Sept 15
Beijing, September 2, 2025 — In a move aimed at enhancing bilateral ties and facilitating greater people-to-people exchanges, China has announced it will trial a visa-free policy for Russian citizens holding ordinary passports.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that from September 15, 2025, to September 14, 2026, Russian citizens traveling to China for business, tourism, family visits, cultural exchanges, or transiting—for stays of up to 30 days—will not require a visa.
