On July 27, Beijing Mozilla Online Ltd. (hereafter referred to as "Beijing Firefox") issued an official announcement confirming that it will cease all operations related to Mozilla and the Firefox browser in the Chinese mainland.
According to the statement, several changes will take place regarding Firefox's operations in the Chinese market. Notably, the Firefox Account and synchronization features will be discontinued. However, the Firefox browser itself will remain functional and continue to receive updates.
Beijing Firefox will officially terminate all Mozilla- and Firefox-related operations in the Chinese mainland after September 29, 2025. The Firefox Account service will be shut down on the same date, and all related synced data will be deleted.
Despite these changes, the international version of the Firefox browser will remain available in the Chinese mainland with full functionality.
