Chinese Summer Camp 2025 is officially underway!
Our first session - Shanghai Day Camp - kicked off with boundless energy as campers dove headfirst into the vibrant heart of Chinese language and culture. They transformed the city into their classroom, playground, and home away from home, embracing every moment with curiosity and excitement.
From tentative first greetings to confident Mandarin conversations, each day was packed with laughter, discovery, and unforgettable growth.
This was just the beginning - and what a start it was!
Week 1 Highlights
The first week of the summer camp offered students a vibrant mix of Mandarin learning and cultural activities.
Morning sessions included "Mandarin Class" and "Practice Tasks", immersing students in the language, while Wednesday's "Shanghai Day Trip" - featuring Yu Garden, the Bund, local cuisine, and the Oriental Pearl Tower - provided real-life opportunities to practice Chinese.
Afternoons were packed with fun workshops: Wubu Quan martial arts, pottery, kite-making, and calligraphy, blending hands-on creativity with traditional culture.
This week perfectly combined language immersion with cultural exploration, making learning both engaging and effective!
Week 2 Highlights
Week 2 took students deeper into Chinese culture with interactive learning. The standout was Wednesday's "Suzhou Day Trip" - exploring Pingjiang Road, tasting local dishes, experiencing Kunqu Opera, and visiting the Silk Museum - where Mandarin came alive in real-world contexts.
Afternoons featured dynamic activities: table tennis competitions, hands-on Chinese pastry making, traditional tie-dye workshops, and a culminating presentation. Each activity blended language practice with cultural immersion, fostering teamwork and creativity in a lively, engaging atmosphere!
These two weeks of summer camp have combined immersive Mandarin learning with vibrant cultural experiences, helping campers grow both linguistically and culturally.
From the Bund in Shanghai to Pingjiang Road in Suzhou, from martial arts to Kunqu Opera - every moment has been a chapter of unforgettable learning. The adventure continues, with more exciting activities and surprises on the way! Stay tuned for our next update!
Until then - keep speaking Chinese with courage!
