As of July 24, Foshan City in Guangdong Province has reported a total of 4,014 confirmed cases of chikungunya fever across the districts of Shunde, Nanhai, Chancheng, and Sanshui. All reported cases are classified as mild.

With the current season marking a high-risk period for mosquito-borne diseases such as chikungunya and dengue fever, the city of Foshan has initiated a public campaign to collect reports of potential mosquito breeding sites.

Residents are encouraged to report unsanitary conditions and mosquito infestation risks in key locations, including residential areas (such as apartment complexes), parks, construction sites (including undeveloped plots), vacant lots, farmers' markets, urban villages, urban-rural fringe zones, and managed communities. Particular attention should be paid to rooftops, underground garages, fire escape stairwells, and narrow alleyways.

Members of the public can submit reports by calling the 12345 hotline or using the "Foshan 12345" mini-program. The city aims to strengthen joint prevention and control efforts to curb the spread of mosquito-borne illnesses.
