The eight initiatives are: "Minimum Connection Time," "24-Hour Customs Clearance," "Worry-Free Transfers," "PuLe GO Mini Program," "Overnight Lounge," "Flight Delay Dining," "Lost & Found Quick Search," and "Pet Companion Lane."
Smoother Transfers, Faster Connections
Pudong Airport, in collaboration with customs and immigration authorities, has significantly reduced transfer times. Minimum connection times are now set at 60 minutes for domestic-to-domestic transfers within the same terminal, 75 minutes for domestic-international transfers, and 90 minutes between terminals.
24-Hour Border Clearance
From July 1, customs, immigration, and security checkpoints in international and Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan departure zones will operate 24/7, along with tax refund counters, self-service check-in, and baggage drop facilities.
Comfortable Stopovers
The "Worry-Free Transfers" service offers multiple rest options for transfer passengers including 13 sleep pods, 11 shower rooms, and newly added hotels. Plans are also underway for capsule hotels, expanding accommodation choices.
Smart Convenience with PuLe GO
The "PuLe GO (浦乐GO)" mini program provides a one-stop shopping platform allowing passengers to scan QR codes to order food and receive in-terminal deliveries—including from outside-security vendors—via robots. It also includes navigation assistance.
Overnight Lounge and Amenities
The "Overnight Lounge" serves late-arriving passengers with relaxing zones in key terminal locations, complete with sofas, lounge chairs, 24-hour convenience stores, vending machines, and food services—no hotel stay required.
Meal Vouchers for Delays
"Flight Delay Dining" is a collaborative initiative between the airport and airlines to offer meal vouchers during delays, giving passengers more dining freedom and comfort during disruptions.
Online Lost & Found
Passengers can now check for lost items online through Pudong's mini program, avoiding unnecessary trips to the terminal. Items can be confirmed online and collected later.
Pet-Friendly Travel
The "Pet Companion Lane" ensures pets have their own seat in the sky. Dedicated check-in counters and travel lanes will enable seamless, stress-free processing for passengers traveling with pets—ensuring they stay together throughout the journey.
A Shanghai Airport official commented, "We aim to make travel more comfortable, efficient, and heartwarming. By doing so, we hope to position Shanghai as the top choice for global transit and the first stop for inbound tourism in China."
