On June 23, an earthquake shook Qingyuan in Guangdong province, southern China, after which a viral video amused millions of people on social media.

In the video, when the earthquake hit, a family, including a father and his two sons, was at home having dinner. The mother was away on a business trip.

While the father, surnamed Li, immediately grabbed his younger son and rushed towards the door in a panic, his older son initially followed, even calling out to his nanny in the kitchen to run.

However, just a moment later, to his father's astonishment, the boy ran back to the dining table.

Despite his father's frantic shouts to run, the boy was determined to take some more mouthfuls of food and grab some dishes.

Since they lived on the 9th floor, Li was concerned his son might get hurt while carrying the food, so he quickly stepped in and persuaded the boy to put the dish back.

Only then did the family safely evacuate their flat.

After they successfully ran downstairs to safety, the family waited on the ground floor for about an hour.
