"Life only comes once—no matter the hardship, one should never give up." This belief drove a team of police officers in Anhui Province to successfully save a foreign woman attempting suicide following a family dispute, preventing a potential tragedy after nearly 10 hours of relentless efforts.
The emergency unfolded at 1:30 PM when the local police station received a distress call: a foreign woman had gone missing after a heated argument with her husband over household matters. She later posted a video on social media holding medication, signaling imminent danger.
Responding swiftly, the police activated an emergency protocol, deploying a dual search strategy combining video surveillance review and on-ground reconnaissance. Footage revealed the woman was last seen at 7:28 AM near a national highway before vanishing. Officers immediately narrowed down the search area and began a meticulous sweep of the vicinity.
The nighttime rescue proved grueling. After two intense hours, the team finally located the woman trapped in a crevice between boulders atop a nearby mountain. Preliminary checks showed she had suffered a suspected fractured left leg and multiple injuries from a fall, leaving her immobilized.
To prevent further harm, police coordinated with firefighters and medical personnel for a joint extraction.
