On the evening of September 19, in a bungalow behind the Yuxu Palace in the Wudang Mountains, which are a sacred place of Taoism in China, Jack,a 29-year-old man was skillfully serving tea to the staff of Hubei Daily. Dressed in Tai Chi clothing, he was receiving an interview as a Foreign Wushu Master.

In Jacks small room, there was Chinese calligraphy, paintings, ink, paper inkstones, and a Chinese Guqin. Jack was also speaking Chinese, and told his story to the reporters, as they were amazed by his living situation.

Childhood Dream Brought Him Here

Jack Pinnick was from Kiwani, Illinois, USA, and has enjoyed Chinese Wushu from an early age, which caused him to be a big fan of KongFu film stars such as  Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Yen Zidan and Hong Jinbao. "In the small town I lived in, there were no Chinese Wushu schools, while in other cities, there were some but they didnt seem very authentic." Jack said. By chance, Jack saw a video of Baxian Gun performed by Mater Yuan, the fifteenth generation Wushu heir of Sanfeng School in Wudang Mountains. "At that time, I decided to follow him to learn authentic Chinese Wushu."

Jack, who had never been abroad before, was somewhat worried about his trip from Kiwani to China. However, driven by his childhood dream, he made a bold decision and booked his flights after contacting Master Yuan through the Internet.

At about 4 AM on June 1st 2010, Jack finally arrived his destination of Wudang, after traveling from Chicago to Los Angeles to Beijing to Wuhan and to Shiyan.

In the Wudang Taoism Wushu School, Jack mastered authentic Chinese Wushu including Baxian Gun (Stick Work of The Eight Immortals), Xingyi Quan (Form and Will Boxing), Tai Chi, Qigong and finished the training courses in 2014.

After graduation, all his classmates left but Jack did not, for he had found the love of his life there. Later that year, he returned to the United States with his pregnant wife.
