A recent drug seizure by police officers involved a woman who admitted to her crime, but not for the reasons they expected.
During an early routine inspection in the morning of July 9, a large group of officers from the Xiao Danyang station got wind of a woman using drugs heavily and proceeded with finding her.
After being questioned, she confessed that she had taken drugs in Shanghai two days prior and that she did it to lose weight!
According to reports on drug abuse, the number and proportion of female drug users have both been increasing over recent years. As it turns out, weight loss has played a significant role in driving many women to start using methamphetamine - known as meth.
Despite being interrogated for drug use, the woman begged the officers not to tell her husband about the incident. She is still under investigation.
