If you've been stuck inside all weekend, here's the news you've been waiting for: Shanghai's transport network is slowly waking up.
When will it end?
According to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau, the rain and wind will ease this afternoon as Typhoon "White Dolphin" (Bái Hǎi Tún) moves northwest, away from Shanghai. The storm's center passed into Jiangxi province around 1 PM.
"It's still raining in some spots, but it's weakening," the weather bureau said. "It won't be much more than this."
As the typhoon moves inland, the city is gradually resuming services it suspended during the storm.
Metro: back from 3:45 PM
Shanghai Metro announced that all suspended sections will resume operation from 3:45 PM today (August 10). However, above-ground and elevated sections will run at reduced speeds as a safety precaution.
Metro operators are keeping a close eye on the storm's path. If winds pick up again, they may reimpose speed limits or suspensions – so stay tuned to official announcements.

Airports: flights are taking off again
From 12 PM today, both Pudong and Hongqiao airports resumed flight operations.
As of early afternoon:
Hongqiao had already seen 9 departures
Pudong had seen 33 departures
Wide-body aircraft and international flights are expected to recover faster.
Trains: major routes resuming
China Railway Shanghai Group announced that from 8 AM today, services on several major lines are gradually resuming, including:
Hangzhou–Shenzhen railway (Hangzhou to Cangnan section)
Hangzhou–Quzhou high-speed railway
Shanghai–Kunming high-speed railway (Hangzhou to Jiangshan section)
Several other intercity lines
