Witnesses and airline staff stated that the man touched the buttocks of a male flight attendant and slapped the buttocks of a female flight attendant. When a crew member tried to communicate with him, he reportedly grabbed her hand and kissed it against her will. Throughout the flight, the man also ignored safety regulations by smoking an e-cigarette at his seat, with crew members reporting the smell of smoke in the cabin.

According to reports, the man's wife, who was traveling with him, did not intervene. When the incident was addressed, she reportedly told the crew that the physical contact was "just a joke," a comment that triggered significant dissatisfaction among the other passengers on board.

China Airlines confirmed that the cabin manager followed standard procedures to manage the passenger until landing, at which point airport police took over the case.

Local authorities confirmed that the 58-year-old British national was taken in for investigation on the evening of March 3. His e-cigarette device was confiscated as evidence, and the entire case has since been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Brigade for processing.
