Harrovians excel in A Level and AS exams
The 2025 A Level and AS results have been published, and once again Harrow Shanghai pupils have delivered excellent outcomes, continuing the school's tradition of academic excellence.
Over the past five years, two in every three grades have been an A or an A*, with 42% at A*. This performance is well above the average for independent schools in the UK.
Harrow Shanghai continues to set the benchmark for A Level achievement among international schools in the city.

Harrovian's Stories
With these results,
the Class of 2025 is preparing to embark on the next stage of their journeys
at leading universities around the world.
Elaine C.
Elaine achieved A*/A in all five of her A Level subjects: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography, securing a place to study Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
She recalls the preparation for her Cambridge interview and is grateful for the school's support, including mock interview with Harrow alumna and current Cambridge student Yi Sum, alongside expertise from a Harrow Hong Kong university counselor. This exemplifies the essence of Harrow's university guidance: a pupil-centred approach, drawing on the group's global network to provide personalized support.
Skye S.
Skye applied with IGCSE and A Level results, receiving six offers from universities in the UK, USA and Canada. With A*/A in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science, he will now study Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle—ranked 7th globally by US News.
Unlike Skye's passion for Maths and Science, his sister Brightly has a strong passion for the Arts. She also graduated from Harrow Shanghai and went on to study at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), one of the world's top art institutions. Two siblings, two paths, both beginning at Harrow Shanghai. Their stories reflect the strength of the A Level curriculum in enabling pupils to pursue their passions and reach world-class universities.
The Strength of A Levels
With more than 70 years of history, A Levels are recognized worldwide for their academic depth and rigor. Increasingly, Harrow Shanghai pupils are using A Levels to secure places at leading universities in the UK, USA, Canada, Hong Kong and Australia, highlighting the qualification's global recognition and competitiveness.
It is not only Harrow's graduating class
who have achieved remarkable results.
Year 12 pupils also recorded
their best-ever AS Level outcomes:
More than 42% achieved straight 'A' grades across all their subjects.
Perseus and Henry went even further, completing A Level Mathematics early in Year 12 and both securing an A*. Congratulations!
Perseus W.
Henry W.
At Harrow Shanghai, we have a proven track record of pupils achieving exceptional examination results on their way to outstanding universities around the world, and this year is no different! I'm very proud of the successes of our graduating class, who secured some excellent A-Level grades, and our results at AS-Level gives me confidence that we'll do even better next year! Our students have worked exceptionally hard, supported by their families and friends, and have benefited from the individual attention and personalized support they have received from their teachers. We know that academic success is best achieved by having strong relationships between students and teachers, underpinned by love, care, and warmth, and the results we consistently achieve are testament to that.
