According to Hong Kong media reports, a 51-year-old foreign man was found dead under mysterious circumstances.
At 6:48 a.m. on September 14, police received a report from a boat operator about a human body spotted floating in the sea roughly 300 meters off Hung Hom Pier, near Wah Shin Street in Hung Hom. Emergency personnel responded to the scene, and firefighters retrieved the man from the water. However, the 51-year-old foreign male was pronounced dead at the scene. No suicide note was found, and the cause of death will be determined following an autopsy.
According to sources, the deceased was a Vietnamese-American national. At the time of discovery, he was wearing a dark short-sleeved shirt, light blue shorts, and sneakers. A backpack containing his U.S. driver's license was found on him. Reports indicate the man had been listed as a high-risk missing person. He had arrived in Hong Kong from Los Angeles on September 10. On September 12, he sent an email to his family expressing love for them and stating that he would leave them forever. Alarmed, his family contacted friends in Hong Kong to file a police report.
