PechaKucha Night is a global event with a Shanghai Chapter that has been active since 2019. It is led by George Lobo, a Creative Community Leader and Design Director, and Jean Snow, Operations Director at Ubisoft and former organizer of PechaKucha Tokyo.
The event serves as a platform for sharing ideas at a rapid pace, using the format of 20 images shown for 20 seconds each. It attracts a diverse range of participants from fields such as advertising, gaming, history, art, photography, fashion, technology, retail, real estate, and construction.
The average attendance is around 80 people, with a record of 120 attendees. The next event is projected to draw approximately 150 people. It consistently receives positive feedback from both first-time attendees and regulars.
The audience and presenter mix includes creatives, architects, improv artists, musicians, women in leadership, and pole dancers.
