According to a statement released by the Qingyunpu Branch of the Nanchang Public Security Bureau on August 12, the attack happened around 1:40 p.m. near Qingyunpu Road.
The suspect, a 23-year-old man surnamed Xi from Gao'an, Jiangxi Province, used a pair of scissors to stab the victim, identified as Liu, multiple times. Liu died despite emergency medical treatment. Her companion, surnamed Shi, sustained injuries but is in stable condition and not in life-threatening danger.
