A Chinese national has been arrested in Singapore for allegedly stealing from a fellow passenger during a flight from Dubai.
According to Singapore police, the incident occurred on board a Singapore Airlines flight bound for Changi Airport.
The suspect, seated in the business class section, is accused of taking items from another passenger's carry-on bag while the victim was asleep.
Cabin crew were alerted after the victim noticed personal belongings missing shortly before landing.
Upon arrival at Changi Airport, the police were notified, and the suspect was taken into custody.
Investigations revealed that the stolen items included cash and valuables amounting to several thousand Singapore dollars.
All recovered property was returned to the owner.
The man has been charged with theft in a dwelling, which carries a penalty of up to seven years' imprisonment and a fine under Singapore law.
Authorities reminded the public to keep personal belongings secure during flights and to report any suspicious activity to the crew immediately.
