1. Application Requirements  

1) Having worked continuously in China for at least 4 years; 

2) Having actually resided in China for a cumulative period of no less than 6 months each year within the four years;

3) Having a continuous four-year annual salary income (pre-tax) of over 680,000 RMB (previously 810,000 RMB), with annual salary-based individual income tax payment accounting for more than 20% of the annual salary. 

2. Approval Time  

Approximately one year. The approval time varies depending on the applicant. 

3. Government Fees  

1) Application fee: 1,500 RMB (non-refundable even if the application is rejected); 

2) Foreigner Permanent Residence Permit fee: 300 RMB.

Q1. If I worked in another city for 3 years and have been working in a Shenzhen company for the past 1 year, can I apply in Shenzhen now?  

A: Yes. Shenzhen has relaxed the requirements. Previously, applicants were required to have worked in Guangdong Province for four years, but now this has been expanded to the whole country.  

Q2. Can I apply if my pre-tax annual salary is 580,000 RMB plus a year-end bonus of 100,000 RMB?  

A: Yes. Year-end bonuses can be included, but please note that the individual income tax must also meet the requirement of being more than 20% of the annual income.  

Q3. Does "each year" refer to the calendar year (January 1 to December 31)?  

A: No. It refers to the 12 months preceding the application date, not the calendar year.  

Q4. Can family members apply together? 

A: Spouses and minor children can apply together, but relevant proof of kinship must be provided. 

Q5. If I obtain permanent residence, what type of visa should my family members apply for?  

A: If family members do not apply together, after the applicant obtains the permanent residence permit, they can apply for a family reunion residence permit.  

Q6. Can I apply if my company does not provide the required supporting documents?  

A: No. The company must provide the specified documents.  

5. Validity of the Green Card  

- For adults: 10 years; 

- For minors: 5 years.
