Kazakh influencer Aruzhan Aibekova apologized after police summoned her over controversial videos mocking Chinese people.

According to a report by the Kazakhstan International News Agency on the 23rd, Aruzhan Aibekova, a Kazakh social media influencer who recently filmed prank videos targeting Chinese people in multiple cities across China, was summoned by local police upon her return to Kazakhstan. Following this, Aruzhan publicly issued an apology.

Earlier, Aruzhan approached Chinese men on the streets and subways in China, using actions such as touching their legs and holding their hands to "test" their reactions, recording these encounters to attract online attention. Additionally, she staged a prank where she took a store clerk's phone and planted it into the pocket of a passerby, falsely accusing the stranger of stealing the phone. These prank videos quickly amassed over one million views after being posted online. However, amid widespread criticism from netizens across various countries, Aruzhan soon deleted the videos.

Reports indicate that Aruzhan was recently summoned by the police in Almaty and received a formal warning. In the conversation with authorities, she expressed regret for the incident, stating, "My videos were not intended to offend anyone. They were released without sufficient consideration. If the videos caused any negative impact on anyone, I sincerely apologize. In the future, I will be more cautious when publishing content."
