China's Revised Law on Minors
Starting Jan 1, 2026, stricter penalties will apply to minors (aged 14–18) involved in serious or repeated public order offences.
Repeat offenders aged 14–16 may face detention, and even first-time offenders may be punished if the case is severe.
The new law also targets school bullying and exploitation of minors in paid entertainment settings.
Schools and police are given clearer responsibilities, and juvenile records will be sealed to protect minors' future.
The changes aim to balance education with discipline and address growing youth delinquency.
