May at That's Mandarin was packed with activities!

Our students enjoyed a variety of cultural experiences, outdoor adventures, and hands-on workshops that made learning Chinese even more fun and immersive.

Here's a look at some of the coolest things 💛

Making Chinese Sachets

Both our Beijing and Shanghai campuses held a traditional 香包 (xiāngbāo, scented sachet) making activity — a beautiful way to connect with Chinese culture 🎋

Baduanjin Practice

Our students also had the chance to experience 八段锦 (Bāduànjǐn), or "Eight Pieces of Brocade" — one of the oldest and most famous forms of Chinese qigong.

This gentle yet powerful exercise promotes relaxation, flexibility, and mindfulness. Now, our students can continue practicing it daily to improve their physical and mental well-being 💛

Real-Word Practice

Who says learning only happens in the classroom?

We took our students out to put their Chinese skills into practice in everyday life — from enjoying a lunch at one of Beijing's 老字号 (lǎo zìhào, time-honored restaurants), to sipping coffee over breakfast in Shanghai.
