On May 12, a legal affairs program aired by Beijing Radio and Television Station released footage of a woman confronting a foreign man who allegedly filmed her without consent at the Shanghai Auto Show.
According to the video, the woman noticed the man secretly recording her. When she tried to photograph his ID, he attempted to block her. He repeatedly apologized, saying "sorry," to which the woman responded, "What's the use of saying sorry?"
She questioned the man on the spot and called the police. She then brought him to security staff, explaining, "He was secretly filming me—I saw it. He deleted the video, but I can't access the 'recently deleted' folder because it's in a foreign language." The man was subsequently handed over to security.
Some online users claimed the man had filmed the woman while she was crouching. The video sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many commenting that "no matter who it is, invading someone's privacy must be held accountable."
