A Japanese kindergarten operator in Beijing was detained by Chinese authorities last year for allegedly violating immigration laws by engaging in unauthorised business activities.
The individual had been operating a school for Japanese children in China, but it was determined that his visa did not permit such business operations.
Consequently, he was deported to Japan, and the kindergarten was subsequently closed .
This incident is part of a broader pattern of increased enforcement of visa regulations by Chinese authorities.
Earlier this year, six Japanese nationals, including three hairdressers, were detained in China for allegedly engaging in activities not permitted under their visas.
The hairdressers were accused of working illegally by performing services beyond the scope allowed by their residency status .
In response to these events, the Japanese Embassy in Beijing has issued an alert, advising Japanese citizens in China to ensure that their activities comply with the terms of their visas to avoid legal complications.
