If you find yourself driving during a hailstorm, follow these safety tips:
Reduce your speed and turn on your hazard and position lights to stay visible to others.
When possible, pull over in a safe location—preferably away from trees or power lines that could fall.
If shelter isn't available, angle the car so the hail hits less critical areas like the rear of the vehicle.
While parked, stay inside the vehicle. If safe, move to the back seat and use soft items (seat cushions, mats, etc.) to protect windows and windscreens from shattering.
