In eastern China, a young woman's heartwarming story of love and resilience has captured the attention of social media users. Dai Wanyue, a 25-year-old blogger and burn survivor, recently shared the news of her engagement to her fiancé, Zhu Shiyu, along with the fascinating fact that they were born on the same day.
Dai Wanyue, a home furnishing blogger and photographer based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, has come a long way since a devastating accident in 2006 left her with 95% burns. At just eight years old, she suffered severe injuries while cooking for her pregnant mother, resulting in the amputation of all her fingers except her left thumb.
Despite undergoing multiple surgeries and two years of rehabilitation, Dai returned to school and excelled academically. Her easy-going personality helped her make many friends, though she initially struggled with feelings of inferiority due to others' negative remarks about her future.
Dai pursued an animation major in college and worked as a designer before transitioning to a career as a blogger and photographer in Hangzhou. As a home furnishing influencer, she earns a monthly income of around 10,000 yuan (US$1,400) through advertisement cooperation orders.
Her fiancé, Zhu Shiyu, hails from eastern Jiangsu province. The couple's engagement has been met with widespread blessings and admiration on social media. At their engagement banquet in Guangshui, Hubei, Zhu's father praised Dai as "outstanding" and expressed his family's fondness for her.
Dai's story has inspired countless netizens, with many leaving heartfelt comments such as, "Hope you stay happy and live together till you are old and grey," and "She is so strong. If I were in her position, I would have surrendered to fate."
Dai's journey from a traumatic accident to finding love and success exemplifies her resilience and determination. As she steps into the spotlight with her fiancé, her story continues to warm hearts and inspire others to embrace life's possibilities.
