In China, 20-year-old Chenyue from Sichuan Province has captivated social media with her striking looks and talent. Despite being deaf-mute, she shares fashion insights online, attracting over 600,000 followers. Chenyue studies at Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts' School of Special Education Art, the only fine arts institution in China admitting students with disabilities. She excelled in sketching, color theory, Chinese, and interviews to gain admission.
Losing her hearing at age two due to medication, Chenyue retained a strong sensitivity to color and a passion for art. Recently, a video of her walking in a school sports event wearing a sparkling white wedding dress went viral, gaining over 300,000 likes. However, some netizens criticized her appearance as "unnaturally beautiful" or "AI-like," while others compared her to a porcelain doll lacking vitality. An alumnus defended her, praising her kindness and motivation.
Chenyue attributed the opinions to her makeup that day and admitted to minor cosmetic procedures and a hair transplant. Yet, she insists friends see no change in her appearance, just more maturity and refinement. She clarified that none of her photos are edited and often shares unaltered secondary school photos, with some netizens noting her natural beauty.
The controversy made headlines on mainland social media, accumulating over 200 million views on one platform. Chenyue's story highlights her resilience and grace in facing online criticism, proving that true beauty comes from within and talent.
