This morning, the city's temperatures were still relatively low. The lowest temperature in the city was 2.5°C at the Xujiahui station, while most suburban areas, except for Songjiang, were between -3°C to 0°C.
During the day, the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 9°C, with a moderate north wind at 3-4 levels. The wind will strengthen along the river and coast, reaching 4-5 levels, while humidity will range between 85% and 30%.
As the day progresses and the wind eases, it will feel much more comfortable than yesterday, with the sun shining through.
There will be a small rain event in the middle of the week, but the majority of the time, Shanghai will experience cloudy weather. The weekend will bring even warmer temperatures, with the highest on Sunday potentially reaching 23°C.
Is this the arrival of spring?
While temperatures are on the rise, they are not stable. The arrival of spring is still uncertain.
Next Monday, a strong cold front will arrive, disrupting the momentum of spring's arrival, causing temperatures to drop back to winter levels. The transitional period between late winter and early spring is marked by significant weather fluctuations, with sudden temperature swings. It's essential to keep an eye on the weather and plan your activities accordingly.
But it's probably the arrival of sprwinautummer
Netizens have commented that it's going to be the season for "chaotic dressing" once again, where it feels like you need to carry both winter and spring clothes, sometimes even all in one day. In fact, Shanghai's unpredictable seasonal changes have earned it a unique moniker: "Sprwinautummer"—the season where spring, winter, autumn, and summer all seem to mix into one.
