Recently, the first foreign national with permanent residency successfully obtained a senior citizen free travel card in Ningbo.

"I am so happy to receive the senior citizen free travel card. This not only helps foreign nationals meet their travel needs but also enhances Ningbo's status as an international and civilized city. I'm really grateful!" said Mr. Feng, a foreign national, after receiving his senior citizen free travel card in Ningbo.

Recently, Mr. Feng, who holds permanent residency, successfully obtained a senior citizen free travel card at the Ningbo Citizen Card Center. The moment he received the card, his joy was palpable, and he expressed his gratitude openly.
Mr. Feng is the first foreign national with permanent residency in Ningbo to benefit from the city's senior citizen public transportation welfare. Previously, the free travel card was only available to Chinese nationals aged 70 and above. There had been no clear provisions for foreign nationals with permanent residency. As someone who frequently relies on public transportation, Mr. Feng was eager to enjoy the same free travel benefits as his elderly Chinese peers and raised this issue with the Ningbo Citizen Card Company.

After receiving the report from the Citizen Card Company, the Ningbo Road and Transport Management Center took immediate action. Through multiple discussions, it was confirmed that foreign nationals with permanent residency in China should legally enjoy the same transportation benefits as Chinese citizens. As a result, the policy for applying for the senior citizen free travel card was revised to include foreign nationals with permanent residency in the eligible group for Ningbo's senior citizen free travel program.
