A peculiar photo of an old woman sitting in a public bathroom and writing something in her notebook went viral.
This photo was taken at the Huanghe S & T University, Zhengzhou, Henan province.
Mr. Liu, the teacher who found her, asked her what she was doing. As it turned out, the cleaning lady was using the time she had in between shifts to read and study.
Every time she read interesting sentences, she would write them down in her notebook. After doing this for a while, shes filled two notebooks.
With such dedicated spirit, the photos and post touched the hearts of millions of netizens across China, becoming the idol of many.
Alone in the universitys toilet, there she was, holding her phone reading articles in one hand, and holding a pen to write sentences down in the other. She used a box as her own desk after cleaning the premises, which were spotless.
Aunt Wang Yulan is 64 years old. Back in her younger days, she did not score enough points in her college entrance examination, and her family was too poor to afford to send her to university.
Fast-forwarding years later to the moment she retired, she realized she didnt have much to do. So she found a job to keep herself occupied, under one condition: no matter what the job is, it would have to be in a university.
She wanted to be surrounded by this great atmosphere of constant learning: After I failed the college entrance examination, I can't remember how many times I dreamed about studying in a college campus, she told the teacher who found her. n my dream, I cried and woke up many times."
Why read in the public toilet?
As the schools janitor, this is her main job and she can find any dirty spots from her position while reading and learning.
In other words: shes multi-tasking.
