Shanghai Set to Open Permanent Residency Hall for Foreigners!

Earlier this month, the Exit and Entry Administration of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau issued a statement that announces the opening of a permanent residence service center for foreigners in Shanghai.

As of September 16, 2019, the permanent residence service center for foreigners will be officially open.

Address in English: Building 8-9, Lane 36, Xuelin Road near Huanke Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai. Take metro line 13 to Xuelin Road station.

Chinese address: 368-913

This center will be handling the permanent residency of foreign applicants, as well as their certification. Consulting services will also be offered.

Consequently, the former permanent residence department located on the third floor at 1500 MinSheng Road will no longer be operational as of September 16.

Note that the citys Public Security Halls can also deal with the permanent residency of foreign applications; concerned residents can visit the official Shanghai Public Security Bureaus website for more information (https://gaj.sh.gov.cn/index.html) as well as the Entry and Exit Administrations e-government platform, or simply follow their official WeChat account by searching to find the nearest registration hall.

Telephone number: 28951900.
