We are looking to recruit a full time, qualified Dance Teacher to start August 2019 to join our coaching team. As a growing organization, our teachers/coaches have the ability to make a huge impact within the organization. Day to day you will be responsible for planning and delivering all your weekly classes. We teach for progression leading up to the seasonal dance showcase where all students perform in an auditorium for family and friends. You will be travelling to and from venues during the week to classes and some time will be spent in the office ensuring all class records are regularly updated with the administration team. The role of Dance Teacher requires the individual to be qualified to teach a range of styles and at least 2 years experience of coaching different ages and abilities. The successful candidate will look upon dance as a creative art form, who loves teaching it to children 3-16 years old. We are looking for a teacher with a passion for dance and who believes in the benefits of dance, what it can give a child and how you can, through dance, grow as an individual. You need to be creative, outgoing, and love what you do. You will have the ability to engage both students and their parents in Sport for Life programs, camps and events. A coach will typically work a set amount teaching hours throughout the year approximately 11 - 15 hour per week not including travel. Requirements
1. 2+ year experience teaching a range of styles including, ballet, hip-hop, contemporary to aged 3-16 years (essential other styles will be considered). 2. Official qualification to teach dance (essential). 3. Proven experience class planning for progression using fun and creative sessions plans (essential) 4. Ability to demonstrate administrative skills including managing class attendance and collecting payments (desirable). 5. Outgoing personality with an understanding of basic customer service principles (essential). 6. Strong communication skills and confidence speaking over the phone and face to face along with strong written skills via email. The ability to strike up conversations and inform customers of new opportunities (essential). 7. Flexible approach to teaching a range of styles, travel to and from venues, venue changes and working additional tasks as defined by Head of Sport and the General Manager (essential). 8. Desire and ability to live, work and integrate in a vastly different foreign country and culture (essential). 9. Team orientated with ability to work effectively and proactively to increase class numbers (essential). 10. Ambitious, target driven individual with a desire to learn to manage and lead a dance program (desirable).
